AAYR Celebrates Alexandria’s 269th Birthday on July 7th

Join us for a celebration of the 269th birthday of the City of Alexandria! Look for us and our flags on our flagpole (U.S., Republican elephant/Virginia). We will plan to provide more up to the minute information on our Facebook page Saturday but we will try to locate ourselves at the end of Wythe street and inside the park by the railroad tracks around 5:30 pm.

Below is the itinerary of the evening. We will have some light refreshment but feel free to bring your own items and to enjoy the food trucks surrounding the park.

6:00 pm – Performace by the U.S. Navy Band Commodores

7:30 pm – Town Crier Announces Mayor Allison Silberberg Poetry Reading by Wendi R. Kaplan, Alexandria Poet Laureate

8:00 pm – Birthday Cake

8:30 pm – Alexandria Symphony Orchestra Jon Kalbfleisch, Guest Conductor

9:30 pm – Grand Finale Fireworks Display
