AAYR June 24th Meeting with Sean Spicer and Caroline Thorman

Join us tonight for our AAYR meeting!  This month we are pleased to present Sean Spicer who will speak on his time in the White House as Press Secretary and on Republican activism in Alexandria!  He will bring copies of his book for purchase.  We will also have Caroline Thorman (more information below) speak to us about her activity as a PR professional.  In order to accommodate both speakers we will be starting at 7:00 which is a half hour earlier than usual.

As a reminder, paid membership (or being a guest of a paid member) is required to attend.  We will honor membership in another YR club if you can provide proof of membership.  We will be checking membership at the door.  If you are interested in joining you can pay at the door or in advance using the link below.

Note: As Alexandria and several NOVA metro stations are affected by the capital improvement project over the summer, please plan accordingly if you use metro to get to our meetings.  Information on alternatives is here and of course you can always use Uber and Lyft or carpool.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

We will also have Caroline Thorman speak to us this month.  Caroline grew up in the foothills of Georgia and comes from a large Christian family, where sharing wasn’t an option and Costco was a weekly shopping experience. Since she was young, politics always fascinated her, but at age 14, she attended a program called Teenpact, where they train young adults by conducting mock legislature at the state capitol.

Caroline graduated in 2014 from the University of North Georgia, where she earned her degree in English Publication and Writing and a minor in Political Science. While completing her undergraduate degree, she was a staff writer for a local Georgia newspaper, a Legislative Aide at the Georgia State Capitol, and a Legal Assistant at the firm of Steven Leibel, amongst other professions such as serving and tutoring.

Currently, Caroline works at a conservative PR firm called CRC Strategies doing earned media where she manages multiple accounts integrating both digital and earned media to create and implement targeted, multilayered communication strategies that produce recognizably influential results unique to each client’s goal. She comes from four years of working on Capitol Hill, and most recently as the Communications Director and Chief Spokesman for Congressman French Hill from Arkansas.
